President’s Report
Greetings members
Happy 2025 – wow where did January go?
I hope everyone had a wonderful festive season and were able to spend some relaxation time with family and friends.
Our little patch of paradise is definitely no hidden gem anymore. Tomakin has been pumping with people over the holiday period. How great was it to see many people enjoying what we have to offer and giving local businesses and the community a financial boost? Yes it was busy and yes there was some anti-social activity but generally it was great.
The disappointing things were:
2024 was a very busy, but productive year for TCA. Among the achievements was the opening of the half court sports facility in Jack Buckley Park, a very well attended Community fun-day, the production of the 2025 calendar, 2024 Triathlon, coordination with the RFS and the TSSC for the Santa Run, ongoing communication with Eurobodalla Shire Council regarding Tomakin and aƩending to the many administrative requirements. In August at the AGM we welcomed some new faces to the TCA Committee. It is great to have an active 17 Committee members to focus on Tomakin needs.
2025 has kicked off with the Triathlon held on 1 February. It sure was a very busy weekend with lots of visitors. Thank you to the TCA Committee members who delivered the event information flyer to all local homes and businesses. A very big thank you to our community members who volunteered their Ɵme to help run the event, it was very much appreciated. TCA covered 22 positions as well as the deliveries so the donation from Elite Energy will be a great injection to our community funds. There have been major concerns raised by the community with the event organiser (Elite Energy) and Eurobodalla Council regarding damage caused during the triathlon to the beach and river, especially on The Spit. For many years TCA has continually highlighted community concerns for this fragile area with Council with little outcome. We see this as a priority and will continue to keep across this very important issue.
As always if you have any ideas or concerns about Tomakin issues please feel free to raise them with us at a community meeting or by emailing:
