Next TCA General Meeting
Thursday February 27 at 7.00pm at the Tomakin Sports & Social Club
All Welcome
President’s Report
We are almost halfway through the year already, where does that time go? I have been away for almost 2 months catching up with family. The TCA Executive and Committee members have been working hard to support projects for our community.
I am proud to report that TCA has once again supported the local RSL ANZAC day event, laying a wreath and making a donation on behalf of our community as well as providing manpower to assist with handing out service booklets and helping with blankets for the littlies to sit on during the service. TCA also supported the Tomakin Bowlers with sponsorship of a new score board.
As seen across the whole shire, Tomakin also experienced severe erosion and damage to our beautiful beaches and river during recent weather events. We are working with Council to get some maintenance done to protect our fragile sand dunes and access points.
TCA was successful in obtaining a grant to cover the cost of installing a fence behind the Basketball Court to protect the trees and provide better control of the balls. Thank you to the Fires to Flourish grant program, I am sure all our court players will appreciate not having to scramble amongst the trees to retrieve their balls. Thank you also to local Dave Golden Fencing for installing the fence to meet Council requirements.
Planning for the 2025 TCA Community Day is in full swing with the event to be held on Sunday 23 November. The success of the 2024 Community Day has given us new ide as and stalls and we encourage everyone to be involved by holding a stall or attending this event.
The next TCA General Meeting will be held at 7pm on Thursday 22nd May 2025 in the Tomakin Club. All are welcome to attend and if you would like to become a member of TCA you can join on the night. It would be great to see some new faces.
Cheers
Daphne Cole
